Usually when there is a change in the weather, there is a change with my skin. On top of being kind of "blah" looking, I've been dealing with breakouts again. So I set aside my usual makeup routine and have gone back to mineral makeup for the time being. Lucky for me, the good people at RAW Minerals have impeccable timing. They sent me the RAW Minerals Discovery Kit, which I've been using for the past few weeks.

Whenever I've used mineral makeup, I've used Bare Escentuals. So I was interested to see how RAW Minerals would compare. Just like B.E, RAW is eco-friendly and won't clog pores or irritate even sensitive skin. RAW products are all made of active botanical ingredients that claim to fight wrinkles, revitalize firmness and enhance your skin's radiance.

So how did the lesser known mineral makeup stack up? Well--I've been using the foundation and mineral glow, and I can't tell the difference. It feels and wears just the same in my opinion. With just the foundation, my skin has more of a natural looking glow. The medium shade worked perfectly for my skin tone--although RAW is lacking in color options when compared to B.E. However, with the Discovery Kit, you do receive two foundation shades, so that they are easy to blend and find your right match. The Kit also comes with mineral glow, active veil with SPF 18 and some great brushes (the foundation brush was an instant fave).

I love mineral powder, I have been using it since last May and no more rosacea! Well it is that and using the Mary Kay Miracle set for normal to dry skin. With a once per week gentle mask, no breakouts either. Anyway the mineral powder is fabulous, with 12 colors and a .28 oz container it lasts a really long time. Longer than the Bare escentuals for me and a way better price. $18/each. The bronzing powders blend really nicely as well, and they come in two tone sets to give you more flexibility and since they are all mineral, you can use them on eyes as well.
